Founded in 1949 in Austria, SOS Children’s Villages began its operations in India in 1964. Registered as an independent, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation, SOS Children’s Villages of India (SOS CVI), works for the holistic development of parentless children, women and children belonging to vulnerable families.
Over the past 60 years, the organization has reached over 65,000 children through 32 SOS Children’s Villages and 28 community projects in India, positively impacting over 83,000 lives. It continues to provide children without parental care or at the risk of losing it, a value chain of quality care services that goes beyond childcare alone, to ensure comprehensive child development as well as ways to strengthen communities and families as a preventive measure in the fight against abandonment and social neglect.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Chief Fund Development Officer, the Head-Individual Partnerships (HIP) shall be responsible for achieving donor retention and acquisition objectives for SOS CVI. The role focuses on nurturing existing donor relationships, building new donor pipelines, ensuring high-quality donor servicing, and aligning with organizational goals for fundraising through individual partnerships.
Key Job Responsibilities:
A. Fundraising and Channel Management
(1) Responsible for generating annual revenue through individual, sponsorship, major donor and online verticals by managing operations of in-house teams (on roll & third party) and franchisees/ channel partners;
(2) Define and drive gross income targets across all individual partnership channels, including Agency, Regional Teams, Digital, Partnerships, Tele-team, and Trail Incomes;
(3) Ensure cost management across the vertical, maintaining overall expenditure within the defined threshold;
(4) Retain and nurture a specified percentage of existing donors to ensure consistent support. Also identify opportunities for donor upgradation and relationship enhancement through targeted retention activities;
(5) Lead acquisition of new individual donors by onboarding new donors through face-to-face meetings and referrals and donor activation events such as school programs, trust collaborations, and community activities;
(6) Monitor the achievement of fundraising targets and obtain information on best practices/ success stories from team members to build capabilities and increase fund generation;
(7) Expand and diversify income sources, focusing on unrestricted funding growth and donor retention;
(8) Responsible for conducting surveys of potential donor segments for fundraising;
(9) Lead donor servicing by building strong, personal connections with donors to increase loyalty and long-term giving and regular donor meetings;
(10) Address donor queries, reminders, and mail communications within committed turnaround timeframes (TAT);
(11) Facilitate donor visits to SOS facilities as part of relationship-building strategies;
(12) Responsible for proposal writing/ processing of donor reports/ volunteering engagements with corporate employees;
(13) Periodically monitor team performance against set KPIs and budgets, providing feedback and corrective support as needed;
(14) Support team members with administrative guidance and identify their training needs.
B. Systems, SOPs and Operational Efficiency
(1) Establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all Individual Fundraising processes to ensure smooth and efficient functioning across teams and partner agencies;
(2) Strengthen operational systems to ensure seamless coordination with Finance, Donor Management, and Compliance teams;
(3) Ensure adherence to defined TATs for critical processes including:
(a) Donation receipting and acknowledgement;
(b) 80G receipt generation and donor tax documentation;
(c) Channel partner and agency payment processing;
(d) Donor reporting and communication;
(e) Database updates and reconciliation;
(4) Monitor operational efficiency to ensure timely processing of donations, minimal errors, and improved donor experience;
(5) Identify operational bottlenecks and work with internal teams to simplify processes and introduce automation wherever possible;
(6) Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping within the donor management system (CRM).
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Sales & Marketing, business development or a related field.
Experience:
(1) 15+ years of overall experience, of which a minimum of 10 years should be in leadership roles in individual fundraising and donor servicing, preferably within the NGO, banking, or insurance sectors.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Excellent communication skills in English & Hindi. Additional proficiency in a regional language will be an advantage;
(2) Strong and proven writing, presentation and people management skills;
(3) Execution orientation;
(4) Operational excellence;
(5) Relationship building;
(6) Passion to serve.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive and in alignment with salaries paid by leading I/NGOs for similar roles. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
6. LOCATION: Vasant Kunj, New Delhi with frequent travel to PAN India locations to support regional teams.
