2. ORGANISATIONAL AND PROJECT BACKGROUND:

 

The Transform Trust and its partner People For Action, are impact-focused organisations with the mission to improve learning outcomes of secondary school students in multiple states of India, via a collaborative initiative called “Transform Schools.” (Please visit www.transformschools.in, for details)

To deepen the impact and scale of this initiative, Transform Trust is now embarking on an exciting journey and setting up a successful payment for outcomes and services social enterprise. The first and large-scale, management and technical support consulting effort of this new social enterprise is Dhokho Shikshak (Proficient Teacher), a three-year (extendable) initiative to support the Government of Tripura’s TRESP programme, backed by the World Bank.

 

The Trust aims to grow this arm of its work as an effective scale pathway to impact learning and life outcomes in India. It is seeking to recruit a talented and proven impact consulting leader to build this vertical, deliver its first service contract, impact learning outcomes via an effective teacher professional development programme in the state of Tripura, and grow this effort, both in Tripura and beyond.

 

By 2030, the Transform Trust and People For Action, aim to impact 20M children, reaching and supporting 25% of children in elementary and secondary government schools across India.

 

About The Project:

 

Transform Schools is providing technical support to the Tripura State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) for In-service Teacher Professional Development and support within 12 aspirational blocks of Tripura under Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery (TRESP).

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Director - Program, Strategy and Impact (DPSI), the Lead Implementation Coordinator shall play a crucial role in bridging strategy and execution within Transform Schools’ education initiatives. This position involves leading the coordination and facilitation of project plans, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of teacher professional development programs. S/he will work closely with the Director of Program, Strategy, and Impact to align project activities with strategic objectives, providing oversight and support to Implementation Coordinators to achieve desired educational outcomes.

 

S/he would be working in close collaboration of the Program Managers as their ally and ensuring program goals, plans budgets are delivered as outlined. The incumbent will supervise and guide the Implementation Coordinators and a Production Specialist to ensure smooth execution of project plans, while closely adhering to specified timelines. S/he shall directly manage multiple reportees including: Implementation Coordinator (8), and Production Specialist (1).

 

The Lead Implementation Coordinator shall internally collaborate with the Program Manager- M&E, Program Manager- TPD, Program Manager- Learning Enhancement, Program Manager- System Strengthening, Director Programs- Transform Schools, DD-Quality Implementation, Associate Director- Research, Impact and Quality, DD- Program Design and Quality and Deputy Director- Finance and Operations. Externally s/he will collaborate with TRESP CEO, NCERT, SCERTs, National, State(s) & District counterparts (Government & Non- Government), Knowledge Partners, Consultants, Grantees and Donors, National/Global Education funders and other evidence/impact-based research groups.

 

Key Deliverable:

 

(A) Strategic Planning and Execution:
(1) Develop comprehensive project plans in alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives;

(2) Coordinate the execution of these plans, ensuring milestones and goals are met on schedule.

 

(B) Leadership and Team Management:

(1) Lead, mentor, and support a team of Implementation Coordinators, fostering an environment of collaboration and professional growth;

(2) Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

 

(C) Stakeholder Engagement:

(1) Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders;

(2) Communicate project objectives, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

 

(D) Monitoring and Evaluation:

(1) Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of program interventions;

(2) Use data and feedback to inform continuous improvement in program strategies and execution.

 

(E) Content Development and Training:

(1) Oversee the development of high-quality educational content and training materials;

(2) Organise and facilitate professional development sessions for educators, ensuring alignment with project goals.

 

(F) Problem-Solving and Adaptation:

(1) Identify challenges and barriers to project success, developing and implementing effective solutions;

(2) Adapt project plans and strategies in response to changing conditions and feedback from stakeholders and team members.

 

(G) Financial and Resource Management:

(1) Manage the allocation and utilization of project resources and budgets, ensuring efficient use and compliance with funding requirements.

 

(H) Reporting and Communication:

(1) Prepare detailed reports on project progress and outcomes for the Director of Program, Strategy, and Impact;

(2) Ensure clear and effective communication within the team and with external partners.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) PhD/ Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or Social Sciences or related discipline in education;

(2) 10 years of overall experience in managing and providing technical support to programmes and grants in middle, secondary and/or higher education. Minimum of five years of experience in managing large-scale teacher professional development programmes/ interventions;

(3) An Intrapreneur who is self-motivated, proactive, and action-oriented to take the initiative to scale developing a powerful service that can impact learning and life outcomes via the payment for outcome route in multiple States of India;

(4) Experience in leading at least three large-scale state-level education reform projects;

(5) Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, donors and NGOs on issued-based advocacy initiatives;

(6) Strong management and leadership qualities, including the ability to innovate;

(7) Excellent organisational and planning skills, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines consistently;

(8) Experience in developing education resources/ research papers including implementation, training, teaching and learning resources.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

The consolidated remuneration for the position is Rs. 17 lacs per annum and will commensurate with the experience and salary history of the candidate.

 

6. DURATION OF CONTRACT:

 

The contract for the Lead Implementation Coordinator position shall be for two years, including a three-month probationary period. Following the successful completion of the probationary period, the contract will continue for the remaining period of two years, subject to satisfactory performance evaluations and mutual agreement between the employee and Transform Schools.
