1. POSITION VACANT: Manager - Fundraising and Partnership (MFP), Language and Learning Foundation, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) was founded in 2015, with a vision to develop strong foundational language and literacy among all children, to facilitate thinking and reasoning, through capacity building of teachers and teacher educators. The organization works with various state governments and has been recognized as a domain leader in language and literacy learning and multilingual education.

 

LLF is a member of a number of national and state-level committees and working groups for the new National Education Policy, 2020, Early Childhood Education and Foundational Learning, Curriculum, and Pedagogy, and is committed to supporting the national agenda of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). It is implementing India’s first CSR-funded Education Development Impact Bond (DIB) through its Learning Improvement Program in Haryana.

 

LLF has grown to become a significant partner of the Central Square Foundation for its Foundational Literacy program and has garnered support from leading education philanthropies including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Tata Trusts, HT Parekh Foundation, and UNICEF. It works in partnership with eight state governments to design and deliver state-led foundational learning programs. LLF recently won the prestigious HCL Grant - The Fifth Estate to work on the inclusion of children’s home languages in teaching and learning in primary classrooms.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to Associate Director - Fundraising and Partnership, the Manager – Fundraising and Partnership (MFP) shall be responsible for the following:

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Identify and research suitable new prospects, including foreign foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals and cultivate relationships with them;

(2) Manage the end-to-end fundraising cycle with each prospective donor encompassing the identification of high-value, prospective donors, initiating leads, calls, and meetings, making presentations, writing proposals, and closing agreements;

(3) Maintain relationships with existing donors and regularly respond to their requests apart from frequently updating them about LLF’s work;

(4) Collaborate with the LLF team to draft proposals, applications, reports, and updates for current and prospective supporters;

(5) End-to-end anchoring of the grant application process, creating appropriate material for proposals and fundraising in general, with support and contribution from LLF staff where required;

(6) Review and develop communication materials, including the website, brochures, infographics, and other print and digital collateral material, as required;

(7) Represent LLF at all appropriate forums;

(8) Any other task mutually agreed on with the Director, Fundraising and Partnerships.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification and Experience

(1) Applicants must have a master’s degree aligned with the role;
(2) Five years’ experience in fundraising for non-profits, including three years in managerial positions;
(3) Experience of working with a wide range of donors/ funders, including high net-worth individuals, foundations, and CSRs is desirable.

 

Skills and Competencies

(1) Strong track record of maintaining key donor relationships as well as establishing new partnerships;
(2) Ability to craft compelling opportunities for a wide range of potential supporters;
(3) Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

 

6. LOCATION: New Delhi. (The post holder shall require to travel 10% to 15% of the time, each month).
