1. POSITION VACANT: Program Manager - Strategy and Learning (PM-SL), Language and Learning Foundation, New Delhi

 

2. ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) was founded in 2015, with a vision to develop strong foundational language and literacy among all children, to facilitate thinking and reasoning, through capacity building of teachers and teacher educators. The organization works with various state governments and has been recognized as a domain leader in language and literacy learning and multilingual education.

 

LLF is a member of a number of national and state-level committees and working groups for the new National Education Policy, 2020, Early Childhood Education and Foundational Learning, Curriculum, and Pedagogy, and is committed to supporting the national agenda of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). It is implementing India’s first CSR-funded Education Development Impact Bond (DIB) through its Learning Improvement Program in Haryana.

 

LLF has grown to become a significant partner of the Central Square Foundation for its Foundational Literacy program and has garnered support from leading education philanthropies including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Tata Trusts, HT Parekh Foundation, and UNICEF. It works in partnership with eight state governments to design and deliver state-led foundational learning programs. LLF recently won the prestigious HCL Grant - The Fifth Estate to work on the inclusion of children’s home languages in teaching and learning in primary classrooms.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager - Strategy and Learning (PM-SL) shall be responsible for designing strategies and roadmaps for projects and teams and managing work across multiple areas.

 

The postholder shall engage at the strategic level with all teams within LLF and also interact closely with the Founders, Board, and key stakeholders. S/he shall manage the organization’s critical priorities and support the process of business development.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

 

(A) Organization Development

(1) Work with the Founder and Senior Leadership for the development of the strategic plan/ framework for the organization and the associated operating plan;

(2) Manage key organizational processes for executing LLF’s strategy which shall include strategic reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis, Board meetings, external meetings, etc.;

(3) Support the Founder by researching and synthesizing the latest findings or other relevant material that will help define or develop the different horizontals and verticals at LLF;

(4) Help address key strategic questions and issues facing the organization and support the senior leadership team in building and developing LLF work areas;

(5) Create and maintain cross-collaboration and integration between the different horizontals and verticals to enable leadership success;

(6) Drive operational support and provide strategic inputs on high-profile projects.

 

(B) Business Development

(1) Support the FR team in building a business development plan by facilitating close coordination with state program teams for developing plans for expansion into new geographies, including the development of proposals, and coordinating with state agencies, and fundraising teams/ donors;

(2) Support fundraising efforts, including strategizing with the LLF US Charity and reporting to marquee donors.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification and Experience
(1) Applicants must have a master’s degree aligned with the role;

(2) Three to five years of relevant experience and a track record of high achievement with a background in either consulting, strategy, or business development, is required;

(3) Experience of working with Senior Management and driving intrapreneurial projects, is also required.

 

Skills and Competencies
(1) Possess an operating style suited for working in a small organization setting, where teamwork and resourcefulness is highly valued;

(2) Good communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both English and Hindi;

(3) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills;

(4) Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at one time;

(5) Self-driven with the ability to take on projects independently; Entrepreneurial spirit and ‘can-do’ attitude and open to feedback.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
