1. POSITION VACANT(S): Accountant-Cum-Office Admin, Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation (BRLF), Ranchi (One vacancy)

 

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

 

Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) was setup by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India (GOI) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act to facilitate civil society action in partnership with State and Central Government, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.

 

BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative, and the Foundation is constituted as a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility) on the other. Major functions of BRLF is fostering strategic partnerships with state govt for improving programme outcomes, provide financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling of proven interventions, invest in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs, capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots, and to create a knowledge Hub for the sector.

 

The General Body and Executive Committee of BRLF are constituted by eminent individuals as well as ex-officio representatives from private philanthropies, public and private sector organizations, financial institutions, State Governments and GOI.

ABOUT “High Impact Mega-Watershed Project”

 

BRLF signed an MoU with the Commissioner MGNREGA Cell, Government of Jharkhand, to implement the “High Impact Mega Watershed Project – Jiwi Daah Hasa (JDH) ” on August 28, 2020.

 

This is a four-year project implemented in the 24 most backward blocks in seven districts of Jharkhand to improve the lives and livelihoods of 190,000 socio-economically marginalised households. 12 CSO partners are implementing the project under the guidance and support of a State Project Management Unit (SPMU). Field implementation of the project commenced on January 1, 2021.

 

BRLF is looking for well-experienced professionals to fill the three vacancies of Consultant -Regional Coordinator (Gumla Region), based in the SPMU. Established in the state capital, the SPMU provides strategic facilitation support to the CSOs partners implementing the project in different locations. The SPMU work under the supervision and guidance of BRLF and the Commissioner MGNREGA.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Accountant-Cum-Office Admin shall be responsible for the following:

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(1) Maintain the books of accounts of the project as per the project budget;

(2) Development of the monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial reports and submitting them to the BRLF Finance Department;

(3) Maintain the cash book and Ledger with Income and Expenditure in computer-based accounting software and maintain the procurement procedure;

(4) Ensure the empanelment of vendors as per the standard procedures for the requirement of repeated services (e.g., Vehicle hire, Hotel booking etc.).

(5) Accounts entry in the BRLF financial accounting software and update regularly;

(6) Provide all the accounts-related documents for Audit purposes and maintain the record;

(7) Monitor the expenditure in relation to the physical expenditure done in the project and work in coordination with the SPMU and the Team Leader, JDH-SPMU.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience

(1) Applicants must have bachelor degree in commerce with more than eight years of experience in the institution's accounting field;

 

Essential Skills and Competencies:

(1) Good knowledge of computers, especially in Excel;

(2) Should be well-versed with Talley software

(3) Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team;

(4) Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team;

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The actual offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
