Reporting to the Manager - Finance, the Accounts Assistant shall be responsible for the following:


Key Responsibilities:

(1) Maintain updated books of account in Tally related to receipts, payments, journals, invoices, credit notes and debit notes as per GST requirement;
(2) Verify that all expenditures are incurred with proper approval;
(3) Maintain appropriate payroll records and documents; Calculate and deduct accurate TDS on the basis of documents collected from staff;
(4) Prepare and distribute Form 16, or any other form, as prescribed by the Govt. from time to time, to the employees within due dates;
(5) Ensure that all taxes (including GST, TDS, ESI, EPF) are properly calculated, deducted and deposited on time with the Government;
(6) Monthly Bank Reconciliation in Tally ERP 9;
(7) Maintain all files in an organized manner;
(8) Ensure that all fixed assets and inventories, if any, are properly recorded and accounted for in the books of account;
(9) Provide support during the internal audit
(10) Assist with administrative chores;
(11) Any other tasks as may be assigned, from time to time.




Applicants must have Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Commerce, or be a CA-Intermediate.


Minimum 2-3 years of experience in book-keeping, taxation;


Required Skills: 
(1) Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook etc;
(2) Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles;
(3) Knowledge of Branch and Cost Centre based accounting entries;
(4) Expertise in Tally or other accounting software;
(5) Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting
(6) Ability to communicate effectively in English and Hindi




SAMS benchmarks staff salaries with progressive employers in the social sector. The salary offered shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience, and salary history of the selected candidate.




Successful candidates shall be offered regular, full-time employment with SAMS, after the successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
