1. POSITION(S) VACANT: IT Officer, The Union, New Delhi
2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) is an international scientific organisation headquartered in Paris, France. Established in 1920, The Union’s goal is to promote national autonomy within the framework of priorities of each country, by developing, implementing, and assessing anti-tuberculosis, lung health and non-communicable disease programmes, as well as other public health issues.
The Union has been working to improve health for people in low and middle-income countries, by conducting scientific research, and working with governments and other agencies, to translate research into better health for people around the world, and delivering projects directly in the field, driving change to ensure the best quality care.
About the Project:
iDEFEAT TB a USAID’s flagship TB project in India has been set up to provide institutional strengthening to accelerate actions for addressing TB and Drug Resistant TB in India and. The overall goal of the project is to strengthen TB-related institutions, focusing on programmatic and clinical management of patients with TB and DR-TB, and thereby contributing to the achievement of India’s National Strategic Plan and targets for TB elimination. iDEFEAT TB is being implemented by a consortium of partners, led by The Union.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Head – HR and Administration, The Union South-East Asia (USEA) Office, the IT Officer (ITO) shall be responsible for managing IT resources and optimizing IT operations.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Ensure upkeep and optimum performance of IT/ Network assets and resources;
(2) Manage IT helpdesk service for staff, and act as L1 support;
(3) Coordinate with customer support service for logging and resolution of issues belonging to servers, laptops, printers, etc.;
(4) Update IT assets database, ensure that AMCs, warranties and insurance policies are renewed whenever required;
(5) Configure and deploy IT assets and systems;
(6) Conduct periodic audits of user computers for data backup and security;
(7) Facilitate procurement of new IT systems and tools;
(8) Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions on IT tools and systems.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification
Applicants must have a university degree in Computer Science/ IT.
Experience
(1) Applicants must have 5+ years of experience in a similar role;
(2) Experience of supporting enterprise software including Microsoft 365 (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams), Zoom, and TeamViewer;
(3) Experience of supporting Network (Switches, Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points), Servers, Domain, Telephony (EPABX), Audio-Video setup, Laptops, and Printers.
Skills and Competencies
(1) Skilled in Microsoft Ecosystem – Server 2008 R2, Storage Server 2016, Active Directory, Office 2016 and 2019, Windows 10;
(2) Understanding of general networking principles and protocols;
(3) Good at providing technical training and presentations;
(4) Ability to work independently and in a team;
(5) Ability to rapidly and independently learn new technologies;
(6) Ability to solve problems;
(7) Ability to plan, set priorities, meet deadlines and multitask;
(8) Good knowledge of English and Hindi;
(9) Excellent written and verbal skills;
(10) Good analytical and documentation skills.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 10 lacs per annum (non-negotiable). Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
