Foundation for Education and Development (FED) is a highly respected, not for profit organization, working in education, established by Mr. Anil Bordia, former Secretary of Education, Government of India and other renowned educationists, in 2000. DD is a decentralized, innovative, process oriented and participatory programme, that identifies out of school adolescents in the remotest rural areas of Rajasthan and provides them a second chance for holistic education, equipping them with relevant skills and democratic values to work towards building a society where the mind is without fear and the head held high. It creates a new social order through community participation based on the values of equality and justice. DD seeks to provide value based and skills-oriented education to harness the leadership potential of youth for social transformation. It endeavors to focus on adolescents, who were deprived of schooling, and make their education a driver for socio economic transformation.

Started in two blocks of Rajasthan, DD has worked in more than 1,000 villages in seven districts of Rajasthan. The programme has worked intensively with more than 1,00,000 adolescents, to date, with excellent results.
