3. BACKGROUND:

 

Kamonohashi Project (Kamo), a Japanese philanthropic organisation founded in 2002, aims at creating a world without human trafficking. It has been supporting organizations and projects in India since 2012 that aim to combat human trafficking and to strengthen access to justice by the survivors of human trafficking through systems strengthening approach.

 

About Tafteesh Programme

 

One of the flagship programmes that Kamo supports in India is Tafteesh Programme. Tafteesh, started off in 2013 as action research project, has the history of 10 years in its walk with survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation to strengthen the criminal justice and welfare system for them to access their justice. While members fromdiverse background work as a consortium (i.e. lawyers, social workers, psychologists, sociologists, researchers and human rights activists) and engage with multiple layers of the system to activate its accountability and roles, Tafteesh evolved its programmatic interventions at block, district, state and national levels, based on the voices and demands and emotions of survivors at the centre.

 

Kamo plays the role of monitoring and fund manager of this programme, and in order to deepen and expand the programme impact, Kamo is looking for the Programme Coordinator who would assist Tafteesh Programme Manager and the consortium as a whole.

 

4. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This is an exciting role for a passionate, energetic young professional who aspires to impact the system for the justice of marginalized groups and has the ability and willingness to learn and build expertise in rights-based approach for further system strengthening.

 

Reporting to Programme Manager (PM), s/he will be responsible for providing support to the PM in coordinating with the consortium members and assisting them, through monitoring, in implementing, learning and re-planning, in accordance with agreed LFA. S/he will engage with consortium members directly at the field level, in addition to the coordination with third-party researchers and other types of technical consultants who also contribute to Tafteesh. S/he will be supported by a team of Finance Manager, HR Manager and Communications Manager, and must be skilled in managing clear and precise communications with internal and external stakeholders.

 

S/he will be required to travel within India, as per requirement, post COVID 19 crisis, and must be skilled in using technology thoroughly and creatively to meet communication demands.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

(A) Monitoring and Reporting:

(1) Support partner grassroots NGOs to develop project documents and tools for planning, monitoring, and reporting;

(2) Coordinate with consortium partners and survivors for setting up monthly monitoring calls;

(3) Taking minutes of those monitoring calls, consolidate them to support PM to develop programme monitoring reports;

(4) Provide support to PM to review, clarify and consolidate monthly reports received from partner organisations to build consolidated programme reports for co-financers of the programme;

(5) Monitor programme based on LFA (including field level monitoring) of all partners to check outputs and support Programme Manager to link them up for programme outcome monitoring;

(6) Document meeting reports, good practices and create knowledge projects and share with the consortium;

(7) Use the data from the MIS to follow-up with the partners for monitoring and reporting.

 

(B) Manage Short-term Consultancy Projects:

Provide support to the Programme Manager and other relevant stakeholders in commissioning/managing programme evaluations, research, communication collaterals development by independent research institutions/consultants.

 

(C) Others:

(1) Programme Co-ordinator must attend any call or meetings required during usual working hours;

(2) Programme Co-ordinator is responsible to work closely with other relevant team members to achieve the programmatic goals;

(3) Any other requirements as per the programme progress.

 

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification:

 

Essential:
Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree from reputed institution/ university.

 

Experience:

 

Essential:
Minimum 2-5 years of work experience in Development Sector.

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

(1) Understanding and experience of Result-Based-Management programme monitoring approach;

(2) Strong reporting skill in English is mandatory;

(3) Understanding and working knowledge of proposal analysis, LFAs and project budget is mandatory;

(4) Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision;

(5) Must have basic research (qualitative, quantitative techniques in research), facilitation and interviewing skills;

(6) Earlier experience of working in anti-human trafficking sector would be of advantage;

(7) Experience in managing databases and information systems;

(8) Listening skills, ability to work with differences of opinion, perspectives, and ideologies;

(9) Ability to identify problems, propose solutions and take immediate corrective measures

(10) Must have analytical, negotiating, communication and partnership management skills;

(11) Language proficiency in English, Hindi and Bengali is mandatory;

(12) Ability and willingness to learn about rights-based approach; prior working knowledge of rights-based programme may have added advantage;

(13) Open to travel.

 

6. LANGUAGE: Hindi, English & Bengali is mandatory.

 

7. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation for this position could be up to a maximum of Rs. 55,000/- per month depending on the required skills and experience. The compensation will be subject to withholding of taxes, as applicable.

 

8. CONTRACT TYPE AND PERIOD:

 

The selected candidate shall be appointed as Full time Consultant for fixed term assignment with Strategic Alliance Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (SAMS). The initial contract shall be for a period of one year (including initial 6 months of probation period), renewable based on approval from Kamonohashi and candidate’s performance.
