1. POSITION VACANT: Manager, Knowledge Management, Centre for Catalyzing Change, New Delhi

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Centre for Catalyzing Change (formerly CEDPA India), is a non-profit organization, focused on improving the lives of women and girls in India by equipping, mobilizing, educating and empowering women and girls, to achieve gender equality.

Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) helps create and increase educational and livelihood opportunities for adolescent girls, by ensuring access to lifesaving reproductive health information and services and strengthening their ability to become leaders in their communities and the nation. Working in partnership with communities, C3’s proven approach is to develop and give women, young girls and boys the tools they need to improve their lives, as well as that of their families and communities.

C3 is implementing a number of advocacy and intervention programmes at the grassroot, state and national levels in the areas of Youth, Reproductive Rights and Gender & Governance. Programmes include a large evidence to policy initiative that involves the generation of robust data and evidence on diverse aspects of women’s empowerment, combined with policy advocacy and technical support to concerned Government Departments in Bihar.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

C3 is looking for a Manager, Knowledge Management, possessing the skills and experience to design, strategize and implement a robust knowledge management system at the organisation, enabling efficient monitoring, learning and evaluation of programme outcomes. S/he will foster a culture of learning and collate an extensive repository of learning materials for the purpose. The key responsibility of the post-holder would be to champion organization-wide knowledge sharing, so that organizational know-how, information and experience is shared both inside and outside the organization (as appropriate), with staff clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Lead/ contribute to the development of a knowledge management strategy and associated implementation plan;
(2) Create an approach for guiding on-going analyses needed to address observed KM gaps. Identify opportunities for innovation in processes, procedures and policy-making/ adjustments;
(3) Lead/ contribute to the development and execution of the KM Governance Plan;
(4) Develop a comprehensive mapping of KM information sources and knowledge, including processes;
(5) Manage the knowledge management system(s);
(6) Oversee capacity building and support for internal knowledge acquisition, management and sharing. Ensure relevant communities of practice are developed and strengthened;
(7) Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's operational business processes and systems, by strengthening links between knowledge sharing and information systems, improved integration and seamless exchange of information across systems;
(8) Promote collaborative tools such as activity rooms/ chat rooms to facilitate sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external partners;
(9) Balance technology, information, processes and individual and organizational learning within a culture of shared values. Create ways to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage;
(10) Support project management through the use of relational database systems, finding assembling and analysing verbal and numerical data from internet, databases and paper-based sources;
(11) Lead the dissemination of information in a way that is accessible and manageable and supports the work of individuals in the organization;
(12) Share experiences across communities of practice, business units, and networks on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing, including the preparation of case studies;
(13) Help monitor and evaluate the knowledge sharing program, including external benchmarking and evaluation programs/ opportunities;
(14) Help disseminate information about the organization's knowledge sharing program to internal and external audiences, including organizing knowledge sharing events (such as knowledge fairs, site visits and interviews), maintaining communications on knowledge sharing across the organization, participation in orientation and training sessions and preparation of brochures/ presentations.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a master’s degree in computer applications and/or related field.

Experience:
(1) Seven to 10 years of experience managing organizational operations and business tools;
(2) In-depth competency of Knowledge Architectures as well as Knowledge sharing, collaboration and transfer techniques and methods;
(3) Familiarity with developing and delivering knowledge sharing programs and with the management Information systems;
(4) Experience with knowledge management systems, processes and procedures, together with an understanding of Youth, Health and Gender programming (desirable);
(5) Experience of working effectively in a diverse team, maintaining good working relationships with the same.

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proven strong Data base management and IT skills in JAVA Script, and the ability to learn new IT packages;
(2) Ability to get consensus and collaboration across many business units; Ability to explain complex concepts in layman's language; Ability to generate enthusiasm; Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff;
(3) Understand project needs and concerns; Respond promptly and effectively to project needs; Ability to customize systems and dashboards, as appropriate.
Collaborate with others in own unit and also across boundaries; Acknowledge the contributions of others; Work effectively with individuals of different cultures and gender; Willing to seek help as needed;
(4) Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to clearly and accurately convey information;
(5) Outstanding organisational skills;
(6) Tenacious approach to project management, delivery and follow-up.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
